I have no issues with my ex (Hi you!) so this doesn’t really affect me much. However, I figure this could be useful for a lot of people. The link at the bottom leads to an app that will block all images and instances of your ex from showing up.
I could understand why people would want to not see their ex or any of their activities on Facebook, especially if Facebook is the main page they go to during the day.
That ish could be difficult to see – seeing your ex showing off their new partners, or commenting cutesy bootsy stuff. Do. Not. Want. The reason I am writing this post is because of the NAME of this app. The name is Eternal Sunshine, like the movie. Now, I don’t know how many of you know this, but Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of, if not my, favorite movie of all time. OF ALL TIME.
There’s something to be said about the movie, the way it depicts the ridiculousness of a breakup, how you wish the breakup didn’t occur, being reminded of the good times and the bad. That’s the roughest part of a breakup – being reminded of the good times you had. We almost always exclusively focus on the bad times because we want to feel that hurt in a breakup.
We hate to see the good times that the ex is having because we are reminded of the fact that we are no longer part of their life. The cure for this is simple: live your life. Live your life as if you are better off without the ex. No need to dwell on the past. I’ve learned that I spend too much time dwelling on the past. Look to the future.
